NJMS-UH Cancer Center Mission
The mission of the New Jersey Medical School (NJMS)-University Hospital (UH) Cancer Center is as follows:
• Conduct the highest quality research (basic, translational, and clinical) in order to further enhance the ability to diagnose and successfully treat cancer.
• Provide comprehensive state-of-the-art cancer care to all patients in a compassionate and friendly environment. Continue and strengthen established tertiary care cancer programs, which provide essential resources to surrounding community physicians and hospitals.
• Establish cancer screening, outreach, and educational programs in Newark and the surrounding underserved communities which will aid in diagnosing and treating patients at an earlier stage of the disease in order to improve overall quality of life and survival rates.
• Provide an optimal environment for the education of future cancer researchers and practitioners.
